Hey, I have a 3.4 911 6SPD, that needs a tranny rebuild. I found 2002 3.6 911 rwd tranny for sale with warranty. I was wondering is it a direct swap? Please help me out! TY.

 

I believe so...there may be some cable management stuff that needs to be done....

 

I recently changed my transmission - got a rebuilt unit from Gbox (great communication/service). If you have an early car, you may need to change the shift cables, as the attachment changed from pin to ball type connectors at some point.

what about what about installing a 997 transmission? any advantages?

 

The clutch is different from mk1 to mk2 fyi. otherwise swap is straighforward.

 

Were you able to install the 3.6 tranny in your 3.4? What did it end up needing for the swap?
