C4S headlights don't match...
So my son bought his C4S about a month ago and I noticed something peculiar. The design of the right and left headlights are different indicating one of them is not stock. Which one is the stock one for a 2002 C4S.

Ugh...It looks like the passenger side was replaced. That's one of those things that you might miss - especially as you're falling in love with the car. Then as reality sets in and you start looking closely at details, the light goes on... Obviously, it's not hurting anything but I could see how it could drive him a little crazy. I guess he has to decide which one he likes better and start searching for a match... It probably won't be cheap, but he should be able to sell the leftover to offset the cost. Good luck

Looks like the passenger headlight is off a turbo, pull it out to confirm. Personally, I like those better and buying one is a lot cheaper than buying two, looks like dealer’s choice in which way ya go.

1) Have all of the receipts all the way back to new.... and no sign of anything
2) I did measure the paint on all panels and all of them where consistently 7-9 mills of paint.
But to your point, I should have done a Carfax....

I've seen this before and the other poster is right. The Turbo models had a different outer lens without the fresnel type ribs. Both light have the chrome under layer, but only the factory turbo models have the clear upper lens which is what you're seeing. The most common is the ribbed version which is found on all the Carreras. Ironically, the GT3 has ribbed headlights and the GT2 has the clear lenses similar to the Turbo models. I learned this when had some problem with my lights and looked into replacing them. Porsche told me there were two different types for the Mk2 style highlight. That is, one for the Carreras and a unique one for the Turbo models including the 996 GT2.
