Anyone know what Porsche's MY VIN prefix is to indicate MY 2003 vs 2004?

 

8th number back, if it is a 4, the car is an 04. if it is a 3, its an 03

 

8th number back? My car is an '04 but the 8th VIN number is a number 9. There's a number 4 in my VIN but not until the 9th VIN number position.

 

8th number from the back, i should have said...or,9th number in.... Im used to dealing with the last 8 of a vin at work...

 

excellent...thank you. Any other hidden info a VIN tells you? Color, manufacturer, etc?

holy mackerel - great info. No wonder all my insurance agent ever bothers to ask me is VIN number and doesn't care to hear specific model information like C2 versus C4 vs C4S.
