Hooked up durametric for 1st time to 34,500 mile 03 4s. Have put 12,500 miles on the car since acquiring it last March, never through any CEL. Can someone please comment on the “ready status” catalytic FAIL and other codes. I watched Jake’s video and all should be PASS. The car was not running when this info was taken, as per video. I haven’t taken any readings yet when idling after thorough warm up, wanted to address these results first. Thanks.

That means your catalyst did not pass its readiness test. Your check engine light should be on. Verify the check engine light works with key on engine off key position.

It would be "not ready" if you just unhooked your battery. "pass" if you drive it enough and it did its self test without a problem. "Fail" if it did not pass its self tests. The second o2 sensors monitor cat efficiency. Looks like an oddball electrical problem to me. But not enough information to determine.

Thanks. All indicator lights appear to work per photo from this morning. I will hook up durametric again and see what it says. Battery hasn’t been disconnected lately.

The readiness monitors are reset when the battery is disconnected. The check engine light does not stay on while they go through self checks and “drive cycles” to clear.

Most of the readiness monitors clear quickly but the cat readiness monitor took FOREVER in my car (literally months). I couldn’t pass a smog check with it not ready and I was like 2mos overdue. Eventually I found a post either here or on renntech with a specific wacky drive cycle to clear the cat readiness monitor. It was an odd sequence of events to follow but it worked. Let me know if you need it and I’ll dig it up.
