Default Turn Signal Indicator Switch

I started another thread recently with a turn signal issue where I would just get a buzzing sound when turning right with no flashing lights but turning left would work properly with the normal clicking sound and lights flashing.

I replaced the relay but still have similar issues.

I noticed yesterday that if I kinda slam the switch in the right turn direction rather than gently it will sometimes work properly so I believe the issue is in the switch.

I see prices for a new switch of $200-$300. Does anybody know if the switch can be taken apart once removed? I'm thinking the contacts just need a good cleaning after 20+ years. Would like to save the $ if possible but will buy new if that's the only option.

Thanks!

You have to drill out the rivets, but yes, you can take it apart and reassemble it. I did. But you'll have to either re rivet it, or find another way to fasten the plate cover back on.
