This is a recurring theme with new cars and complex systems. In the 70's, IBM coined the phrase, "the golden screwdriver" because the customer would pay a huge sum, in the order of hundreds of thousands of dollars to "upgrade" a given mainframe to support a larger number of people (terminals) and the total amount of effort was a guy arriving, sitting at a console and issuing some commands or running some code to reconfigure the terminal servers. It didn't take long for customers to get a little annoyed.

Well, I see what happens when I talk to them on Monday. The reason that the car ('02 C4 Cab-29K miles) is there is due to a large puddle of oil - yup, Rear Main Seal. They will let me know on Monday if it is repairable (2nd time) or whether the engine has to be replaced.....

I don't know if my situation is unique or not butt i have had the best total care expreince at Porsche North Scottsdale of any car dealer anywhere by far.

The charge me for almost nothing. They top off my oil whenever needed for free, set up my passanger side mirro for free. the other day i was in and my dealer said Damn your car is dirty givev me the key so i can run it through detail! (free!!) these guys are amazing.

Ok I am in there a fair amount....to shoot the S#!T and maybe that helps but these guys are awesome. The sales manager, service manager, my two salepeople and several other people in the dealer know me and y girlfriend by name! These guys are on there game hardcore!! (and i only bought a piddly little 911 cab!)
