Default Cab Cover Trim

I’m looking for a thread or tips on how to repair the piece shown on my 99 cabriolet. The car spent it’s life in Southern California and the trim piece is disintegrating. I’m not even sure what the material used under the cloth cover is, almost feels like hard foam. My car isn’t valuable so I’m looking to repair it as simply and reasonably as possible. I have had a tough time even figuring out what the part is called. Any help is appreciated.

Mine is a bit beat up as well and has a stain I can't get out. I've been looking for one used but they don't pop up that often, maybe take it to a local upholstery shop?

Not on a porsche ,, but I have carefully removed a rear deck cover and covered it with fiberglass to retain the shape then glued a good grade of felt to it, easy to fit and stretches over teh curves,, attached with 3M upholstery adhesive..

I've had that out to upgrade my stealth-installed V1. It's not hard to remove. Remove the wall behind the back seats and remove two or three screws holding it in. Put the top into service position and pull down the carpeted wall on the other side ( I think there are some plastic clips). Remove the four or five screws from that side. It lifts up as one piece. It's plastic.

Try some of the dismantlers and see they have a decent used one. Hit it with a lot of RaggTopp to freshen it up.

It's harder to describe than to actually do it. You'll see what to do once you get in there.

Did you have to repair the underlying plastic piece?
