'Winter' is when I try to get all my bigger projects done because it's not 80°+. Your pic looks sunny and warm (never understood why people won't list their location). The silo in the background is the only thing that makes it look like a cold area.
If it's any consolation, it's been bitterly cold here too at night.
We hadn't been there in close to 25 years. We spend our as much time as possible in an area called the Kawartha's which is a little closer to Toronto but with many more arterial roads to get there (in other words, I can be there in 90 minutes or 2.5 hours at rush hour) versus the 3 hour trek to Muskoka.
Why not move to a warmer climate...You'll be so much happier!
Let's see...wife, kids and grandkids! When I retired I wanted to move to the warmth...I got out voted. I even tried to convince her to move to Maui saying everybody could come visit...NOPE! Any more questions?

I used to work for a US based organization with operations are over the US. I did a lot of work in the US. An opportunity came up in in Florida or LA. Tried to convince the wife. Florida was only a 2.5 hour flight back to Toronto. Since I'm an orphan (no siblings, no cousins, no parents any more), move would be easy. Wife has a very large extended family.....She would not even consider it....
Reality is that I'm in Toronto. It is a lot warmer than other large Canadian cities (except Vancouver), but it is still cold. I remember being in D.C. or Atlanta in February. No snow, blossoms coming out. Essentially, you can spend outside 10 months out of the year. In Toronto, mid-October to mid-April is cold. Not much to do outdoors. I still get out on the ATV all year, spend time at the cottage etc. But, I force myself to do it....
Retirement will be likely Florida/Arizona - Driving distance.

I spent 14 years in the Northern Va area and hated it! It's nice 2 weeks in the fall and 2 weeks in the spring, the rest sucked...I get it.
2nd wives are much better too YMMV!
Also, family love to visit family in warmer climates in the winter, just a thought.
This is my first winter with my 996. Also, bought it in winter, so needless to say it hasn't really been out. I just can't bring myself to take it out on the salt covered roads. Does anyone have any opinions on how much rust is problem with these older cars? Any suggestions on a good way to clean the underneath of the car? I bought an attachment for my power washer that you can run underneath. Haven't tried it yet, temps haven't been above freezing for a few weeks now...
