Default 996.2 C2 ride height issue

My 2002 996.2 has strange height issue: rear left corner of the car sits 0.6-0.8" (1.5-2 cm) lower than rear right corner. I was told by the local dealer that springs have to be changed. I've bought new H&R springs and this did not help: still the same height difference.
Important! Car is accident-free (confirmed by the dealer). Diagonals are identical, suspension arms are identical.

Wheel alignment is ok, steering and overall behavior is just perfect.

What can cause such a difference?

When they/you did the springs, did you take the time to measure the shock extended length? Also, Porsche uses spring spacers in some cars, "maybe" one was installed on one side but not the other? I'd be starting with both rear shocks/springs sitting not the bench and taking some measurements. Eliminate one factor at a time and eventually you'll find the issue.

Thanks I'll check the spacers - did not know that it may be the case. Springs are new and identical, shocks are new Bilstein B6.

Like JTT is saying, I believe it is a shock. The only way a spring could be to blame is if they are mismatched or broken or the perches are damaged. Put rear of car on jack stands as level as possible. Measure each side from floor to bottom of lower control arm under bolt at the wheel carrier to compare extension of each rear side. Shock internals on left side may be leaking/seals broken. What brand and type of shocks are on car? Possible shock mismatch on rears?

As I've mentioned shocks are brand new (1000 miles) Bilstein B6s. No leaks, no mismatch.

Alex - I look at your left top mount in upper picture and see much more of the bottom than the right mount. One of them is not correct. Is your left side higher above the floor than the right side?

it almost appears that they flipped the bearing (996 343 515 05) on the left side, top
or used 2 different compensating plates
http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=502-00

would like to know more about the spacers and wheel set up too

Concur - somethings different up at the top of the shock assembly. Looks like something is not seated correctly.

Nope, left is lower... I'll soon take the suspension apart to find out what's the story with top mounts.

I have a TechArt widebody kit installed that's why the spacers are so big. Rear tires are 315/30/18

What is the history on the suspension? Has it been changed? Getting the correct spacers on OEM M030 shocks and springs is very confusing and Porsche changed the spacer height a few times. If someone changed it and got 2 different springs left/right and did not get the correct corresponding spacer this could happen. The springs had paint stripes on them that indicate the spacer that goes with it.
