I bought Spyder taillights from Carid. We lug and play and the look a lot like the street corner set. I kept the stock set if I ever decide to sell the car though I doubt it.
I have had both the Depo and the Spyder lights. The Depo are better made but they are in the 997 pattern which I decided I didn't like. I use the Spyder lights, they look great, work great, and look like an LED version of the 996 pattern.
I have two sets of stock taillights.
I might sell off a set and get some of the LED ones.
I think I like the looks of the Depo blacked out ones most.
Your taste is spot on...when my son is driving and I am driving behind him they look fantastic. Some folks struggle with the fact that they look like 997 lights but I am ok with that since my 996 is almost all 997 mechanicals anyway.,🙂

Mine kinda looks like a 997 from the front already, so I'm not bothered by the tail lights looking like a 997.
I've had people tell me I shouldn't modify my car from what the factory built. (I changed my profile picture due to the hate messages)
These same people love Singer and Magnus Walker, and Sharkwerks.
I don't get it.
I bet if Magnus built a 996 with headlight covers and LED tail lights, they would call him a genius!
You just need to grow a long shaggy beard, create a bunch of modified Porsches and become famous and you'll also be called a genus
Ha, I have a beard, and the length sometimes is a bit long.
I've been mistaken many times for Jamie Hyneman, so I'm almost famous.
I've had Customs in NY, TSA in Midland TX, Police in Houston, people walking down the street in LA, and people in restaurants all over ask me if I was "the MythBuster's guy."
My family now doesn't react when I'm asked that. (Ho hum, nothing new)
It has happened MANY dozens of times.
The most recent was last weekend at Sea World in San Antonio.
But I'm no genius...nor famous.

I love what you have done with your car...996s are so much fun to mod!
