My 3.4L has the LN 0.5 quart spacer with x51 baffles and 997 pickup tubes. If I put a larger capacity spacer in will I need to adjust the pick up tube length? In theory this would be an easy swap but I'm not trying to risk an engine on a theory.

The two quart LN sump kit I have has a (deeper) pickup extension.

 

The pickup comes with the spacer doesn't it??

 

I found a great thread outlining the mantis sump extension, which doesn't come with any longer pickups. However the LN 0.5 quart extension currently on my car does have the extensions. Problem solved.

You're propagating incorrect information. Mantis' website clearly states and shows that their deep sump kit #1 it comes with a pickup extending spacer, kit # 2 stated it also comes with one (despite not showing it in the pic). I installed the Mantis sump a few years ago and can confirm that mine included a pickup spacer. I'm not affiliated with them in any way.

I appreciate the information and clarification. I bought my boxster with the 3.4L swap and a 0.5 LN sump spacer installed, so I wasn't sure what I needed.

I did end up buying the mantis 1.5L sump spacer and it does come with the space for the pick up tube. I was misunderstanding the pickup tube design.
