Post Replace or Polish?

With 35k on my 996 the stock exhaust tips do not match the overall excellent condition of the car. Can they be polished out or are they a lost cause? Who builds a replacement that doesn't discolor like the stock tips?
Thanks for your thoughts,

I know this is P-car heresy; but I like the quieter stock exhaust. The HP increase is a selling point, but I'm not ready for the decible plus up.

you can definitely polish them and they come out just fine, believe it or not if they' cold and you knock the initial junk off them, wax works pretty good! I did mine when I replaced the mufflers

I'm with you on that. I upgraded to the PSE because everyone was raving about it here and on other boards, but then I went back to stock. Most people probably prefer the louder exhausts, but I really like the quality of the stock sound.

I probably shouldn't say that until some finally buys my PSE!

(Actually somebody out there will enjoy it. It just has to be someone who like things loud)

I polish my tips with P21S Multi-Surface Finish Restorer Polish--gives them a nice shine:

Then I apply RejeX, which help keep dirt from sticking to them. It's amazing stuff--also works great on windshield and wheels:

Thanks All - I'll look into the Meguiars, P21S, and Rejex. I've been using P21S wheel cleaner with success - they seem to make good products.
I love the sweet sound of the flat six, but........too many years around jet engines or maybe I'm just an old fart!?

Nova996,

Please send me a PM if you still have your PSE. I was planning on ordering this week.
Thanks!
