Double Din + GT3 Center Console Delete
I've been lusting over the idea of a double din set up with a gt3 center console delete. The only challenge would be figuring out where to relocate the HVAC controls and where to put my cell phone (this topic probably deserves its own thread). Just wondering if anyone else has had the same idea, and wanted to share how they would deal with the HVAC controls.

The GT3 console delete is relatively stout and i'm sure could retain its strength even if you cut out a slot to re position the HVAC controls into it. The trick would be to get the controls to mount to the console delete solidly to prevent any rattles or flimsiness.

I've been in two minds about this mod, love the spartan look of the GT3 console delete but like sweet victory - that's where my phone goes so I don't really want to remove it!
Been driving around without it lately as I have a new hand brake coming so I began the disassembly.

I’m looking to do this to mine and from what I’ve seen there isn’t enough space behind the GT3 console to fit the ac control unit so the console will need extending forward slightly.
If you search for the Function First console riser kit you’ll see how they mounted the control unit or storage hole.

Hi we are the ones i think mentioned about being on FB
a mate and i at the beginning of 2023 started the 3D print project for a GT3 console DELETE. This was because of wanting too retain the DBL DIN install and have the delete
so we spent a few months and got the console 3D printed, too our satisfaction . Thats the easy part
The prinary design engineering project been the custom MICRO HVAC unit. Designed too control all heating /cooling functions .
proof of concept has been achieved and we now start the design process too resolve the packaging of the unit . This is intended to fit into the remaining space in the horseshoe and work for all mk1&2 986 and 996 models
on a side note - needed a 996 cup splitter, so decided to print one
