Default boot/trunk/deck/hood naming conventions

The strut which holds open the engine compartment lid needs to be replaced. Looking for parts online, I'm wondering how do vendors refer to the front compartment and rear compartment of these cars?

Do I want a part for the trunk or hood, which seem to be the terms used by the vendors?

Thanks.

Is that what I should expect from parts vendors?

Everyone uses a different name. Call it what you want. It's not that hard to find the right part.
