Default Spoiler adhesive

Guys,

This question pertains to my other car, not my Porsche, but I ask here because the comparable Mercedes owner's website is far less useful when info is needed. My CLK coupe has a small lip(spoiler) on the trunk lid and has somehow become slightly unattached at one end so I am looking to re-attach with a proper adhesive. Is there something specific anyone could recommend to serve this purpose? I am guessing the spoiler is fiberglass but I don't know what glue is best suited. Help!

3M makes a trim adhesive that I've used in jobs like this. It comes in a tube. It's a black goopy adhesive.

I used 3M double sided tape on the e30 trunk spoiler and it's been holding strong for 13 years now.

I've used the same stuff to attach small spoilers, gurney flaps, etc, but I found it worked better during a new install where you can put it full length, rather than a spot repair to an existing installed part.

Good point, that totally makes sense.

I think the product you used is probably the right adhesive for the job.

It would work best if you worked the previous adhesive off, cleaned the surface and used the 3M tape for the entire spoiler.

I've never used any sort of glue or spray adhesive but its a fairly simple job. Get some fishing line and a heat gun or hair dryer, heat it up and take it off. Clean off the glue with 3M Adhesive Remover and then apply a new strip of 3M Double Sided Tape and reapply. I am sure the adhesive would work fine as a spot fix but I just haven't personally used it.
