Default To tint or not to tint?

My 2003 C4S has the standard tinted glass. I’ve had my last couple of cars tinted by a local shop that does amazing job. Any reason I would want to stay away from this? Car not daily driver and garaged.

i have an arctic silver 2003 c4s (with sunroof) just like Dawg82's, but i notice in these photos that the sunroof on Looneybin's c2 tilts upward. mine only retracts and doesn't tilt. are there 2 different sunroof versions depending on c2 vs c4/4s?

thanks

Sure about that? I've never seen a 996 sunroof on any model that doesn't pop-up/tilt. Broken mechanism? Bad switch? RTFM?

My '99 C2 tilts.

As far as tint, the first thing I do when I buy a car is remove it from any window I like to see out of at night.

All sunroof should tilt and slide (you have to push the button in the middle to tilt)

Regarding tint, I hate tinted glasses on cars. Mine have them tinted from the previous owner (well done, expensive tint film) and I didnt remove it because I am now in Florida... but as soon I come back to my original country, first thing will be to remove the tint.

Bottom line. If you live in a sunshine state, do it if you want to protect the interior. If not, I would avoid it if you can (like a weekend car that you say it is)

Yes! Ceramic tint all the way! Totally changes the look in a good way.

I like the fishbowl look as well but I also think silver looks good with a little tint.

For me, 100% Yes for tint. Usually one of the first things I'll do if it doesn't already have it.

Well maybe if I had a highly collectible & perfect vintage long-hood, I'd keep it stock.

I did a subtle tint on mine, and I like it!
