Suspension Question
Everyone, don't want to start a huge debate on suspensions since I've read a ton of threads on this topic but wanted honest feedback on coilovers versus alternatives for daily street/highway driving. I have no intention of tracking my car, but I would like it to perform and to handle "spirited" driving. As such, I doubt I'll need coilovers, nor do I want to pay the expense. So, I bought Vogtland springs off a rennlister (thanks) and wanted to install them with new Koni's. My 996 C2 is 18 years old the needs updating. My local independent porsche specialist is telling me this is a bad idea, that the car will handle poorly/not to expectation and that I should install H&R street coilovers instead.
Should I look take the advice or not?

IMO, solely for street use ROW M030 seems to be an ideal option for the C2. Porsche spends lots of time engineering systems that work well together.

I can't speak for the Konis, but I put Bilstein B8's on mine with H&R sport springs and H&R adjustable sway bars (in addition to miscellaneous other pieces). Got about an inch and a half drop, better ride and handling and no more clunks/creaks etc. ROW M030 is a viable option albeit sometimes difficult to get - that being said Bilstein B8's can be difficult to get also. ** Bilstein B8's are designed to work with the H&R sport springs, and are also the manufacturer of the stock struts and shocks (Bilstein B4). Good luck
