Default Subwoofer help.

I'm going to upgrade my stereo. Focal 165 V3E up front, Alpine 9815 head unit and 2 JL Audio 8W7 for subs. I can't figure out how they can fit in a box behing my 2001 C2 coupe rear seats. The area behind my seats is 8" wide, before it hits the rear deck, I can go approx. 11" high before I'm higher then the backs of the rear seats, the box can be the whole width behing the rear seats. Can the rear deck behind the rear seats be taken out. I've seen some pictures of rear subs on the rear deck, I just can't figure out how they're done. Please help.

Ken

Ken,

Paris Auto Audio outside of LA installed my subs by creating a space between the cushion of the rear seats, and the frame itself. About 3 inches of space in which the subs are in the cushions themselves and point down towards the frame of the car. Only downside is that the rear seats sit up about 2 inches or so higher than stock. Sounds great and virtually invisible.
If interested, call Paris and ask for Jamie.

Regards

Default Subwoofer Enclosure

Ken,

I installed a custom subwoofer box with (2) 8" subs in my '99 Coupe. It was built by Rod at Car Audio Innovations. They have a bunch of pictures on their website:

If you would like pictures of mine let me know.
