OK, so last night a herd of deer ran across the road and I popped one at about 45 MPH. Actually not as bad as I thought but it still cracked the bumper in a few places. What's the best place to get a replacement? Are there any non cheesy upgrades?
Wow that is lucky if that's all the damage. A friend hit a deer in a Honda Accord at +/-25mph and it totalled the car!
Anyway sorry but I don't have a good answer for you on the bumper. The prices you'll see for a piece of plastic will **** you off. Good luck with the search.
FWIW -- replace the bumper cover with a factory part.
If you're *sure* there's no other damage than the cover, you could buy one yourself on-line (several vendors are Rennlist sponsors and often offer discounts to Rennlist members). Then either get it painted and R&R the cover yourself, or take it to a body shop for them to paint and install. R&R of bumper covers is quite easy.
If you are not *sure* there's no other damage take it to a body shop.
Also, depending on your insurance an animal strike may quality as a comprehensive coverage claim (if you carry comp) which often has a very low deductible.

I didnt even think about insurance. Ill look into that. Im going to pull the bumper off in a bit and make sure theres no other damage
I have had several bumpers on Mercedes and BMW repaired by (plastic body shops ) repairers. look in your area and or talk to local body shop. They strip the bumper, basically bond weld the cracks and they are as good as new. Cost me $150 to get done and then repaint.
Your bumper does not look that bad should be easy
I kind of like the tufts of deer hair stuck in the bumper - gives it a kind of natural "Deer Hunter" kind of look (if you're into that sort of thing...) ! Just kidding
Years ago, I had some damage to the front bumper cover of my 996 C4S. I searched around and fortunately I found a bumper cover for sale that was painted the same color as my car. It was being sold by a fellow reenlister. I think I paid $300 for it, although the shipping was a bit pricey due to the size. It was a direct, bolt-on replacement. You might consider that route.
