I tried to search for any info on this....
Is there a "hack" for DRL's on our 996's?

There's a way to jump two fuses in the fuse box that will use your low beams as DRLs (always on when ignition key is turned on). My car had this when I bought it but I didn't want to leave it that way, as I figure the Bi-Xenon bulbs could use the break

Personally, I don't understand why there's a switched headlight at all. Manufacturers should simply hard wire them permanently on like the Canadian version cars do.....what's the downside, being more visible and oh ya, changing your bulbs every 4 or 5 years........

I hear you liljohnny, only even with Canadian cars only the DRL are on, not taillights.....which is even sillier if you ask me. All on, all the time, off with key.

Yeah, US DRL's are a 1/2 way good idea, should have been wired to all the lights at reduced output.
Too many half wits that don't remember to TURN ON THEIR LIGHTS AT DUSK. (Having almost been hit by someone driving with NO LIGHTS at NIGHT)
AND, I read about some morons occasionally who DEFEATS the DRL's shuts off the lights.
