Default Tool to remove wheel centers ?

IIRC there is (was) a tool to pull the wheel center caps off, or did I imagine it?

I have one from the toolkit in an Audi S4... I haven’t seen one for Porsches (that isn’t to say it doesnt exist, just that I haven’t seen one...). An angled pick usually works.

I'm pretty sure I saw something like that, though I can't recall where. I've always used a tiny L-shaped allen key. Just insert the short end of the L into one of the tiny holes on the centercap, tilt it in until it grabs the backside of the cap, and gently pull towards you until it pops out.

I made one out of a wire clothes hanger. Works like a charm!

I’d have to see if it fits the holes, but stainless tig filler rod is handy for making makeshift tools like this quickly.

Take the wheel off and pop it out from the back. Very easy.

At work we use a variety of tools. Small picks, Custom made tool (also known as a cloths hanger), special VW tool from a totaled VW and last but not least a thicker paper clip. Some of the porsche caps i have seen have holes that are just too small to use picks and cloths hanger - those are the ones we use the thicker paper clips for.
