Red 'S' Logo
I really like the S logo on the Carrera 4S especially on the Black C4S, it's subtle and elegant.
Just wondering what people think of painting the S Red...

My understanding is that it is either glued or stuck on like double sided tape. You run floss under the logo and pull it off.
I've been planning on buying the whole logo and painting the "Carrera" black and the "S" red, like so:

Just the 'S' is glued on? I don't think the logo is glued on...
The black logo may look nice, is your C4S seal grey like mine?

Riad,
The whole thing is "stuck" on. I was trying to find the thread that said that. It was Don's Misty, where he took off and put on several logos before finally deciding on a simple "Porsche". Hey Don, where are you?
Mines's AS, and the "Carrera 4" logo blends in. In seal grey it would be the titanium "S" that blends in.

I think the black logo with the red "S" would look great on AS.
I may have to get that done.
So just slide floss under and it comes off?
And to reapply, any special kind of double side tape?
Would it be clear where it goes, i.e. centered?

Boy, I wish I could find that thread. Anyway, once it's off, you can't just stick it back on. You have to use a specific glue, or tape, or something. That's why I was planning to just get a new logo, paint that, and stick that on. The new one will come with whatever will make it stick on.

I think I'll order the logo and the 'S'... I'll paint the 'S' red and leave the Carrera 4 as is... then if I'm not crazy about that I'll paint the Carrera 4 black... I like the idea of the contrast but I don't want it to be too much.
What if I use a nail gun and shoot 10 penny common nails into the logo to keep it on.
Just a thought for you do-it-yourselfer's.

Hi All,
I have a little experience w/ this w/ a Targa logo. I took off the black one after a new Targa emblem came in on order. I painted the new Targa emblem Silver, and took off the black Targa emblem.
The black came off w/ the floss technique.
CraigThe excess glue came off w/ wax and rubbing. The new one (painted silver) had a glue-like backing, and went on very easily. I had to polish and rebuff the area where rubbing dulled the paint, but otherwise, it looked beautiful on a Basalt Black car.
