in my opinion putting parts on a car that Porsche has already put on the same model does not make it an outlaw

an LS engine in a 996 is an outlaw.

that’s a sweet looking ride. What’s the reaction at Porsche events to a replica?

If it's a replica then it's just kit car.

Maybe so. But it looks pretty badass.

Call it what you like, it's a blast to drive...2110cc and under 1700#'s, four wheel disc brakes and it won't rust! It will out perform any real speedster out there and I'm not afraid to drive it or park it at the mall!

I almost picked up a non-running replica last year.
I should have gotten it, but waited too long to say "I'll take it" and someone else nabbed it.
If I hadn't been in the middle of a driveway renovation I would own one now.
It was a great price, and rebuilding the engine, or just replacing it entirely would have been inexpensive.
Next time I find one that cheap, it will be mine.

It looks awesome, and sounds like it's a blast to drive! Real 356's are worth way too much to modify/outlaw. While still beautiful, the originals leave much to be desired regarding performance...

Around here they seem to be accepted, at least at the PCA Saturday Get Togethers.
Also they can be seen on some of the weekend drives.

^^There are no Porsche events on my little island, nor would I care what they thought!
