I took my 04 C4s Cab out today for a little ride around town... it was cold in NY but sunny and I just wanted to go for a ride.

I'm crusing along and a cop passes me on the other side of the road, and he gives me the slow down gesture and a real nasty look. I do a quick check of the digital and I'm doing 37. The speed limit in town is 30 mph. I thought his actions were a little extreme given the fact that I was only going 7mph over the limit.

However, I'm used to driving my 01 C4 that has the speed under the tach. The 04 C4s has the temp under the tach. That's right it was 37 degrees out and I was doing almost 50.

Man I would have felt like an *** if I got pulled over.

It's funny cause it's true.

I sold my 03 c4s but I think you can replace the temperature under the tach with the speedometer. Just flip through the computer. That is what I recall.

 

No ****, hmmm I'll check that out. Those wacky Germans are always thinking!

 

On my 03, current speed is not an option for the 3 user configurable displays under the tach.

But I did replace my trip odometer with the fuel range, which is nice.

 

I didn't see it on the computer settings for the 04... oh well, that would have been nice. And yes I agree the fuel range is nice to see...

 

Dam, and I thought I was alone, I had a similar scenario happened to me. I was driving with My wife, when she gives me one of her looks, then she looks at the Speedo and gives me the look to slow down (city area 25mph) I looked at her and said "WHAT, I'm ONLY GOING 20), but that was also the degrees outside. I was really going 48..

 

It's funny how you get used to something like that... I think they should have given you the option to switch the displays for people that are used to the old way. I also like the idea that the center instrument was all I really needed to look at while driving hard.
