Wobbly computer stalk, how to fix?
For about a week know been noticing that the stalk for the computer is very wobbly. It still works, just have to move it a bit before it registers.
Is there a way to tighten it up? Or is this the whole switch assembly going bad?
Here's a video so you can see just how wobbly it is. In the first part I'm just moving the stalk the distance of the wobble, then it shows me making it register.
Link to video, it's BIG!

Just remove the combination switch cover (two torx screws if memory serves) and there's a screw holding down the switch that stalk attaches to. I bet you that screw is loose.

thanks! All I had to do was take off that rubber piece surrounding the two stalks on that side and I could see two three mm Allen screws that were very loose, tighten them up, all is good!

Man, I love this forum and Renntech! I went out, popped the rubber cover and tightened the 3mm hex head. No more wobbly computer stalk! 5 whole minutes. Thank you contributors!

This forum is great. My stalk has been wobbly since I bought my 996 14 months ago. I just went to tighten up the screws during lunch based on this thread. You think yours was wobbly? I only had 1 loose screw holding mine on. Luckily I had a screw to replace the missing one and now both are tight, as is the stalk. Thanks to all!

Wow, I had no idea this was a common problem. I assumed mine had been disassembled and left loose, but maybe they all work loose over time? I'm glad I put threadlock on mine when I re-tightened.
