Default Converting PCM to play DVD movies?

I have had my new 04 TT cab for about 2.5 weeks now and would like to know if anyone knows how much $$ or how easily I could get my existing (PCM) navigation/radio screen to play DVD movies. I have heard that it is standard or an option in europe and it is as simple as installing a european part.

1. European TV operates on different systems from US. PAL for most of Europe and SECAM for France I think, which means your NTSC DVD's would not play unless the player is an all region player.

2. Why would you EVER want to watch DVD's in your car? It's bad enough that that people use their cars as restaurants and offices, we don't need people to start using the secret microwave in the trunk to heat up popcorn and watch "The Fast & the Furious" while driving on I5...

There is no DVD/Video/TV option for Boxsters or Carreras. The TV/Video module which you speak of is only avalible on BMW and Mercs in Europe.

Here is the site for US conversions for many cars but not Porsche.

I will be driving to Idaho around the west coast to look at colleges with my son and thought it would make some of the drives seem shorter. Much of the west coast isn't windy roads with beautiful scenery.

I have Nav-TV in my e46 M3. It is great. i suggest you touch base with them and see what you can do. Mine also plays antenna feed TV, but the 10-disc dvd changer is the best part of it all...

you know, for when you want to really show off to your buddies by playing **** at a buck-50 or something...

There is nothing wrong with having a DVD player in the car, When i am out with my wife and i stop by the local car hangout, i can get out and talk with all the boys while she stays in the car and watch a movie....its a awsome thing.I hear no bitchin I would suggest everyone gets one!
