Default iCarsoft CR V2.0 Anyone own one?

Looking at picking up a "good" diagnostic tool and have been pointed to the iCarsoft CR V2.0. I want something that will work with my 03 C4S and also work with some of my other vehicles since I'm not a fan of a tool that only can be used on one car. Anyone have any experience working with this tool?
Thanks

There was a discussion about this on another 996 forum. Their Porsche specific scanner doesn't work with 996's, so I doubt their generic one will.

That's strange since I contacted iCarsoft tech support and they suggest two models that would work for my car ( the CR V2.0 and the CR Pro). Are you sure that they won't work with the 996? I've seen videos of the product and the 996 shows on the screen as one of the Porsche cars that it can work with.

If budget is not an issue, buy a Durametric. :-)

This. I was also considering autoenginuity, but the Durametric is the current DIYer Gold Standard. Tried and true, and you'll have help from the forum (in addition to Durametric) should you run into issues.

I contacted iCarSoft last year as I was about to order one. Their customer service responded that it was compatible with the 996, but when I checked the user forum on their site, 996 users said it didn't work. A second email to customer service confirmed that it was only compatible with 996 Turbos and GT3s. A recent search turned up this link on eBay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/PORSCHE-SCA...5.c10#viTabs_0

If you scroll down, it says that it's not compatible with 996s.

Thanks for the clarification! I guess tech support isn't as "supportive" as it used to be. =0)
