Thanks. It looks like there are two different versions for the 996 on the PET. I guess I'll need to open up my door to see which version of speaker box I have, if I have any at all. I suspect the prior owner deleted them to install the Kicker (crappy) speakers that are currently in the doors.

My 996.2 has the larger speaker "boxes"(13) in the doors.
Mine has the Bose system.
The smaller speaker "boxes"(5) appear to be for the standard sound system.

I think you’re right. But the smaller boxes are for the M490 option as the base cars didn’t have speakers in the doors. I still need to check to see if my boxes are installed or if the last guy ripped them out.
