It looks like the back latches haven't been turned/locked down?

Are you sure it is all the way in before you locked it down? When I got mine, I had to turn it quarter way for it to go all the way in before locking it.

yes, when i turn it, it pulls the top down and then hits the stop and I cant turn it anymore. but this is as far down as it will go on both sides.

this is the way the car came so if it needs to be adjusted in some way, or if it needs to be removed and reset or ....something...I have no idea...but this is as far down as it will go down.

Do you have the spade type or screw type? Take a pic of the posts on the hardtop and the receiver on the car. Maybe I can help also year of car. Also is the top original or was it found and bought seperately

I will try and get photos. the car was purchased at auction so I have no idea of it's history. it has been sitting for the last 10 years in Las Vegas and looks as if it was in parts and quickly thrown together to get it together enough to run through the auction. it needs a lot of work. it's a 1999 C2 with a widebody kit on it

That wide body kit "might" have changed some things. Not sure. Did the car arrive with the hard top on it like in the pic? Looked at your previous pics and its hard to tell if the hardtop was locked down or not.

yes this is how it arrived. I was searching for a video to see how the hardtops worked and found one that showed how they lock down. I thought maybe it was just unlocked, but both sides are locked down as far as they will go.

Mine is the same way, nothing to worry about. If you locked it then you are good to go.

Not normal. First try removing the roof and reinstalling it. Sometimes it's not sitting correctly on the windshield end even though it looks right. Front goes down first and then the rear . There are adjustments on the bayonet mounting hardware if that doesn't work.

Did you see OP's original photo? That's a pretty huge gap. You shouldn't be able to sit in the back and poke your finger outside when the hard top is on.

Not normal at all. My hardtop is nice and tight. My car did not come with the hard top so i had to purchase the parts. I had read that they are height adjustable. If they are too low the top will contact the clamshell and will rub the hell out of the paint. If the are adjusted too high then there will be a hell of a gap. The gap on mine is about 1 inch all around the back. I dont have the link at the moment but there is info on the net about adjusting these.
