Vertical 10" tablet install?
Anyone try to install a 10" tablet vertically in their 996? I've seen a number of threads of people who have installed iPad minis or similarly sized 7-8" android tablets, but haven't seen any for a 10" tablet.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2014 edition tablet (10.1") that I rarely ever use. Was messing around with it yesterday and it looks like it would fit nicely in the center stack (would need to find a new place for the AC controls though).
Think I might try this out for a couple days with a temporary mount to see if I like it. If I do, it could make a nice winter project.

Buy a Tesla! Just kidding, but... WHY? I just don't get it. I think the short answer is no, as I've been here quite awhile and haven't seen anyone do this yet. I'm sure it can be done, but that brings me back to my initial question...

I understand the draw, but seriously, the best multimedia connection for these cars is a bluetooth hookup. If you have time to look down to your 10" screen, you are driving too slowly.

Yeah I've got a that works surprisingly well. Figured the tablet would be nice for nav while on road trips - beats the little screen on my phone.

I don’t get the fascination with all these computer displays in the car. I love the fact my 996 doesn’t have all this stuff. Focus on the drive. One of my favorite cars way back before I had a 911 was an old Jeep CJ 7. Three dials(speedometer, gas gauge and oil pressure) and it was all you really needed.

Personally I think that looks a little big, overkill in my eyes. Why not just do a simple double-din install that has Android and/or Apple play? They look factory when done properly and can be easily swapped back to factory if need be.
