Default Installing ROW M030 kit

I have a factory ROW M030 kit that I'm planning to install, it came with the car when I purchased it. The "101 Projects" books talks about a suspension kit project taking about 25 hrs. That seems long compared with the time it took me to do a similar install on my 968 a few years back. What have been the experiences here?

There are an awful lot of variables depending on where you’re located (road salt is a big one) and how the car has been used. Your workspace and tools can also make a big difference. So, there’s really no way to totally pin it down. When I did my shocks/struts/springs/top mounts and sways, I could only work for two to three hrs. per night and weekends. One bolt took me close to a week to remove (spring perch to strut body). Still, all this being said I think the struts and springs probably took a total of 15-20 hrs. - I also did the front wheel bearings so I’m not including that time...There’s nothing particularly difficult about the job, but there are a lot of details to pay attention to... Good Luck

I did the ROW M30 suspension along with rotors and new braided brake lines in what I 'remember' as just being one day but definitely not more than a weekend. My 996 is a low mileage car that has been in San Diego its whole life so I didn't have any issues with stubborn bolts or corroded parts. It was my first time on a 996 but I've done it a million times on other cars so I kind of knew what I was doing. I also did a lot of internet searching for tips and videos too.

Similar experience here in Los Angeles, I think it was a weekend project for me. Luckily the earthquake overnight didn’t knock it off the jack stands...

From what I experienced earlier this year with new rotors and SS brake lines I don't expect too many corroded nuts and bolts. Maybe it will go as fast as the above video :-). I am trying to decide if I should take it to a shop, was quoted estimate of 8 hrs, which was a lot less than the "101 Projects" book estimate. But, other than dealing with spring compressers, which I don't like handling, it does look pretty straightforward. So maybe this won't be a difficult project.

Just read your thread and it was quite helpful. Thanks for posting a few mistakes so I can avoid making them :-)

Oh yeah - I forgot to mention that mine's a C4 as well, which makes the fronts a little more difficult (front axles mean it's more difficult to get the strut towers out of the wheel well).
