springs
someone had a writeup over at renntech.org, according to him it was not too easy and special tools like a spring compressor were needed. better left to the pros as an alignment will be required also when changing ride height.
actually, i've talked (emailed) several boxster/996 enthusiasts and they say that, if mechanically inclined and with proper toold, it is quite an easy job. one guy even had the front springs changed in an hour! yes it does require a spring compressor but that's about it. you may need a ball joint spreader but others say you don't.
if you are at all apprehensive about working on you car then don't even bother. for me, i do enjoy tinkering and modding my car and i would rather save the dough. everywhere i go i am quoted 800 bucks!!! for a 3 hour job (+ 200 for alignment) and buy even more mods for my car
. i of course, will leave the alignment to the pros.
i'll be taking pics and documenting it when i finally do the install.
email me and i'll upload all the research i have done or just wait for the DIY.

I've done springs on several of the cars I've owned including a 993TT. The fronts look like you may have to separate the lower ball joint. Has anybody posted pictures or copy the info from the shop manual.
