What should I expect to pay for a first service on my 996?

Cableguy, are you talking about the 10,000 mile or annual service? FYI, I just had my annual service check at 10,000 mile); changed oil that I supplied; checked and changed all fluid-filters, etc; checked engine for oil leaks and generally did everything that was listed in the manual. I paid $235.00 plus my cost for M1/0W-40 (they use Castrol). Paid $40 for 10qts. I'd say that was about average. I've seen some folks post more or less than that.

Don, my car is 2 years old and I have 5000 miles on it. I know, I need to drive it more. I was told I sould have the first annual serice done this year. Since my miles were even lower last year, the dealership told me to wait.

Not sure if service requirements are different for the Turbo, but my 15K service on the Turbo was ~$480 or so. This is about the cheapest I found (with the average being closer to $600.

Make sure your service includes completion of ALL items listed in the service book, including little things like wiper blade replacement, pollen filter replacement, etc...

My first service @ about 10,000 miles was about $450. This price included flushing the brake lines as well.

I am getting quoted $430 for my 15,000 mile service.

Prices differ from one dealer to the next, so I would call around to see who offers the best package.

Just called on dealer and they said the annual service for low milage cars run between $300-350. They check all fluids, change oil and replace filters. Sounds liek a lot of money for something so basic.

Called another dealer. They told me to wait till 7500 miles before doing any type of service. Even if I'v ehad teh car for 2 years and only 5000 miles. Does that make sence to wait or should I at least changhe the oil?
