Question Wheel color/spacer/tire questions for new wheels

So I just bought a set of lobster wheels for my 996 Aero. Its a 2001 C2 Manual.

Here is a picture of one of the front wheels I bought.

They are 19x8 et 57 and 19x11 et 67. I am told that they will just bolt on without issue.
1. Should I get spacers and are they needed? Some people say that they aren't needed, but I just want to make sure.
2. What tires should I be running? I was thinking that I should run 235/35 19 and 295/30 19. I have seen people running 305s in the rear and different sizes in the front.

I am currently running 225/40 18 and 285/30 18 on my stock wheels. The car has Bilstein B6s and I have H&R sport springs. The springs are going on over the winter. I will be putting all season tires on the 18s.

I am trying to achieve this look:

3. The wheels have some rash on them. I will be re-finishing them. My girlfriend is thinking about changing the color, maybe to the OZ racing anthracite color. I know that its personal opinion, but thoughts on changing from the OE silver?

Thank you. I'm trying to have this done, springs/wheels/tires, over the winter. I just would like to do it once without issues, like rubbing or problems with alignment.

I like the higher contrast in your example pic with the bright claws. I also like black for the silver car, but with claws? I don’t know. For me the anthracite dulls down the car, as-is. No spacers required for rear, at least 7mm on front. I also have 997 wheels on mine.

I have tried 997 wheels on my 996 but for some reason they always look to big for me.....I don't understand why because its essentially the same chassis as the 997. While your cars look great, I think I prefer 18s....perhaps you need 25's on rear to make the tires less tall and 30s in the front.

What size tires? That looks nice. Did the front rub without the spacers?

So far I've seen guys using 295/30 19, 305/30 19, and 315/25 19 for the rear tires.

I am running 235/35/19 on 8 1/2 ET 50 Front, 295/30/19 on ET64 Rear with no rubbing issues. I think if I had spacers I may get some rubbing. The 295 rears are already .9" larger in dia than front and 305's would be 1.5" larger in dia than front so will stay with the 295's.

Thank you. So a 7mm spacer would put me where you are with the front wheels. How do you like the 19s? This is just a street car. I emailed wheel dynamics about my questions. If they feel that spacers are needed for the wheels, I'm hoping to just purchase through them.

997 19's are perfect on the 996 if you get the right tire size and offset. 315/25/19 rears with 235/35/19 fronts. 19x11 +67 (With 15mm Spacer to make it +52) and 19x8 +57 (With 15mm Spacer to make it +42). Lowered on RUF/Bilstein. No rub at all.

What wheel sizes/et are you running that caused rubbing with spacers?

Never checked offset....where can I find that info. Only fronts rubbed when turning. I still have spacers, I will check size.

Found this at the local Porsche dealer. Pretty useful for seeing what’s available. I will be going with 295 rears and the P-Zeros.

Not sure about the spacers, my tires are just inside the lip that are rolled and if I remember, I believe the 996.1 do not have the lip rolled. On your wheel guide, I for one do not see the need for N spec tires. I could see it you tracked the car and wanted a tire that has been tested by Porsche then go with the N spec. I am running the Bridgestone Potenza S-O4 and am very happy with them, They have a nice lip around the wheel so has saved me a couple of times in parking with wheel rash.

@diddy2003 Could you please share the page with the 18" size tyres on it?

I know they are roughly the same but I'd like to see it

Cheers
