Default Brake Pad Temperature Sensor

Since the wear sensor wires are already there, it seems like a simple matter to build a temperature sensing probe into brake calipers or pads that could be hooked up for track use to warn drivers if their brake temperature starts getting hot enough to damage their rotors. With all the trouble PAG is having with overheating ceramic brakes etc. you'd think someone would try to market such a thing. Anyone ever heard of this or know why it wouldn't work or be of any value?
