Another wheel spacer question
Searching through the threads, I see the common sizing for my '03 NB with 5 spoke light wheels are 7mm front/15mm rear.
Will I notice any handling difference with the 8mm narrower front? More understeer? Better to keep spacers same size?
Both front and rear gaps now are the same, measured by taping a weighted string on fender lip. 25mm = outside edge of fender to tire sidewall. 15mm f/R would look the best imo, but the front may rub? Car is lowered.
I'd like to get some gt3 wheels, but don't have the $$ for those now.

I've got 15mm on all four corners of mine. I can't comment on the under-steer question as I haven't tried those sizes. 15mm looks great and feels great...

Nice car, I have factory 5mm spacers and if you do any "spirited driving" even with 5mm spacers the paint on the side of the car can start to get small chips in it...
I have the same wheels - factory Carrera 5 spokes
Do you have a front 3rd radiator or a tiptronic, can't tell from the pic, car looks great though! I have the same Aerokit Cup II

I have a set of Carrera 5 spoke wheels for which I am considering using spacers. They are 8J ET 50 and 10J ET 65
As a reference for the stance I want to achieve I refer to the set of Techart Fromulas I also have. They are 8.5J ET50 and 10.5J ET60
On both of the sets I run 235/40 front and 295/30 rear.
Compared to the Carrera 5-spoke the Techarts stick out 6.3mm in the front and 11.4mm in the rear. So in reality they are comparable with the 5-spoke in combination with lets say a 7mm/12mm spacer combo.
The balance of the car driving the wider stance Techart wheels is very good. Did many track days with them. Ohlins R&T, corner balancing and a bit more agressive alignment without further needing adaptations tot the suspension. The car has a very neutral and predictable behaviour.
I really like the way they fill the arches. Especially in the back it is almost maxed out. I would not go any further personally. In the frontthere is some more play to go wider. But I think you have to make there a trade off between looks and usability. The wider you go the more stone chipping you can get on the sides of the car.
So most probably I will go for a spacer combination of something like around 7mm in front and 12mm in the rear.

Silk,
thanks for the details! From what I read, 7mm up front is the preferred size. I will buy a set of 15mm and try up front. If they don't work I'll move them to back.

That looks great! What I'm looking to achieve. I have 996.2 and different wheels/off sets, so my original question is not very good.

The 996.1 and 996.2 narrow body do not differ from each other when it comes to track widt. The only differentce might be that for the 996.2 the wheel arches where already rolled at the factory.
The only difference with dporto's setup is that we do not know his rim parameters. If they are the same as the OEM 5-spoke wheels then the spacers and looks are relevant for your situation to compare.
In case his wheels are the BBS Sport classic II the widths and ET values are as follows: 7.5 / 50, 8 / 52, 9 / 52 and 10 / 65

I run the Techart Formulas also, perfect fit for a NB and w/o spacers
adds an extra inch front and rear and really transforms the car
