I'm interested in knowing the correct Porsche designation for the two 996 builds: Is it MK1 and MK2 or MK-I and MK-II?

I have not seen any official literature from Porsche with the "MK" monicker. So my WAG is owners/enthusiasts/writers came up with it. IOW, there is no "correct" format per se but MK (without the hyphen) is what I have seen the most commonly used.
