Default How many bars do you have?

I have a new '03 C2 with 500 miles on it and just had to have a leaky oil sending unit replaced. Prior to this, I did not take note of the pressure readings but did today after it was nice and warmed up. It was reading upto 4.5 bars between 3000-4000 RPM. The manual says that it is typical at 5000 RPM to be at 3.5 bars.

Can someone please offer how many bars they are seeing (warm) at idle and 3000-4000 RPM for comparison?

Thanks!

go to the search function and search for answer to your question. this, like most every other topic possible has been ridden into the ground over and over. fyi, my car reads just like yours.

Fair enough..I try not to cover the same ground and did not find exactly what I was looking for searching in the 996 forum. At least I did not ask about break-in.

Thanks for the comparison..I appreciate it.

I seem pretty consistently around 5 bars over 3,000 RPMs.

looks like we can just archive the forum and stop posting now, since everything's been covered.

It's low pressure you should be worried about not high pressure. Like below 1 bar at any time and you have some serious problems.
