2003 996 Targa
Well Amigo's It's Official I have confirmed my contract on my new 2003 996 Targa which is fully loaded - I take delivery this coming Saturday I went to see the Black Beauty last Sunday and took her for a test run. What a wonderful performer, graceful and fast - The glass panel roof was too dam cool - I love the natural light that comes in the cabin. The car is Black with an Aero package, Black Supple leather and the new sound system, 18" wheels with PSM and heated seats, power seats (passenger also) with lumbar support. I really fell in love, what I dream car. I will post pictures of my Black Beauty after I pick her up this weekend.

I am in the market for a 996 coupe, I'm looking 03 or 04 Lapis Blue with Grey Leather, PSM, Heated/Power seats, 18" wheels.
I'm debating between Targa on Coupe myself. I have an 00 328ci with a moonroof and really like the natural light that comes into the cabin. I just wonder why the coupe doesnt have an option for a moonroof... its just a sunroof.
Hope you like your targa! Car looks beautiful in the sun, post more pics please! hehe not to be too demanding but I'd like to see how the sunlight lightens up the cabin.

I also have a new '03 Targa. Seal Gray with black interior with deviated carpet color. The carpet is a silver (grayish) that really opens up the footwell area and highlights the black interior. I love the openness the Targa top gives the car.

Congratulations. You'll love the car. One of the unexpected things I love most about the Targa is the feel with the roof closed. The view through the glass roof can be awesome at night with the moon shining through, and my favorite all time experience in the Targa was driving in a violent thunderstorm with lightning strikes flashing overhead through the glass roof, while dry and comfortable inside.

Some have reported some squeaks, but my service advisor says that they have a lower tolerance for squeaks in the Targa than in a Cab, due to the greater structural rigidity. I had a really bad squeak shortly after I got the car, but the dealer managed to tighten everything up and the car has been quite tight since. The two stops at the corner of the hatchback piece of glass are adjustable by screwing them in and out (like the stops on the trunk lid). I didn't realize this initially. Some adjustment may be needed after the car has a few miles on it. Very easy to do...

i have also heard of squeeking as a targa problem, but as previously said, it is probably something that can be adjusted down-open air motoring always provides some noises. your car is beautiful-enjoy it.
