Anyone interested in replacement cup holder parts (flat style)?

Burning Brakes
I need the gear piece. Same break as yours. Pricing? Delivery time? Or do we just PM directly?
My faceplate also broke, which is how I realized the gear part had failed. I pushed it in, like I always did, and it did not retract and snapped off right at the small cups graphic, when the edge hit the horseshoe. . I super glued that part back on and it looks acceptable. I have to manually push it back in when I retract the holder. Haven't had either outer ring break, but it may be likely if it is a common issue. I've never even used the inner holder. Just the outer.
Thank you for your excellent video, BTW. Very helpful!

Hey Perryinva - I'll send you a PM
Houston - they may have only been in 996.2 models (2002+). There are two different size holes in the assembly and I believe the second one would fit a 44oz as its pretty big.

I haven't had any time to pull my cupholder apart to see which parts I need. I'm torn between going ahead and getting the parts, or just deleting the cupholder entirely and printing a camera mount or something to go in its place

Hey Charlie, I'm still interested if you're willing to sell me the piece. The part you first made is what I need, a picture is up earlier in the thread. If you don't mind, I'd like to buy 2 so I can have a back-up.

Sure thing, I'll send you a PM. You're talking about the gear piece, correct?

I would be!
[QUOTE=charlieaf92;15137003]I had two small pieces on my cup holder break and decided it would be the perfect excuse to finally buy a 3d printer. After spending 2 months printing useless trinkets for my desk, I've bit the bullet and removed the cup holder from my car and begun the process of studying, modeling, printing, testing, revising, printing, etc.
So far I have a working replacement for the little gear piece that actuates the faceplate when the holder pops open/closed and I'm just about finished with the larger of the two spring loaded ring/retainers on the first cup hole that adjust to fit various sized cups. These are the only two pieces that were broken on mine, and I would assume they are the most common parts to break. But, before I put everything back together I figured I'd post here to gauge how widespread the problem is, what the interest is in DIY fixes vs. just replacing the entire units, and what parts seem to be the most common to break. Trying to decide if it would be worth it to re-create more parts and put together a low cost rebuild kit of replacement parts for anyone else that wants to tackle disassembly.
For those finding this thread via search, I'm going to be posting a link to a step by step disassembly and re-assembly video once I finish up the project.
Here are some pictures of where I'm at currently. The test pieces are printed in blue, the originals are black. Obviously for the final part they will be black, and printed in a strong, heat resistant, plastic.
Cheers

the same gear broke on mine as well, and the arm that went to it. What would be the cost to duplicate those 2 pieces for me?

Actuating Gear
Charlie,
I am looking to pick up the actuating gear from you. It appears that the small nipple on mine has broken off into the arm. Can you PM me details of cost/delivery?
