Default Bridgestone S02s and S03s

Will be in the market for tires once the ice melts. I was wondering if anyone has run the Potenzas S02s or the S03s and has any feed back based on performance. Cornering, dry traction, wet, wear and road noise. I am currently running Michelin Pilot Sports and and do like them. I am just looking for the quality feedback this forum always provides.

Do you have the Pilot Sport "Ribs?" If so, keep them. Otherwise, go for the S-02A. Much better than either the S-02 or the S-03. Either tire will provide excellent dry weather performance and great wet performance.

As I said, if you have the Pilot Sport Rib, it's the one to keep unless you really want a change. Otherwise, the S-02A is a great tire. Both are sold at the Tire Rack.

I currently use Pilots on one car and SO3s on one car. I had also used two sets of S03s on another car I owned that I no longer have. That car also went through a set of PZero and I liked the 03s much better than the Pirellis, but I never had Pilots on that specific car to do direct comparison.
I like both the Pilots and the S03s about the same. Dry traction, cornering and braking seems about the same to me and I really don't press the issue when raining. Noise issues to me apparently aren't a factor, because candidly, I have never noticed what any of my tires sound like. Just don't pay attention I guess.

I am about to replace my Contis (very unhappy with) on the 04 996 with Pilot 2s. I would probably have kept using the S03s because I was happy with those tires, but for everyone telling me that the Pilots are better. If you like are familiar with the Pilots, I would stick with what you are used to driving on as the differences between the 03s and Pilots to me in the dry are negligible.

Never used 02s, but a friend of mine has and he did not like them. He went to 03s and he has used 03s every since.

Doug, which Pilots are you comparing with the S-03? The original Pilot is comparable, but the Pilot Sport Rib is far superior to the S-03.

Just plain Pilot. I am not sure the Pilot Rib even showed up as an option when I bought my last set of tires from Tire Rack. How long have they been around. Do you recommend these over the Pilot 2s.

Porsche started installing the Rib's as of 2002 model year, but Tire Rack took a while to have them available. No, I don't think they are as good as the Sport 2's. But, they certainly are better than the original Pilot's and the S-03's.

All of the above are also available in C4S/Turbo sizes. Can't go wrong with either S-02A or Pilot Sport Rib.
