Default What/Where does it plug into?

2001 911 Carrera 2 Coupe---Clear plastic tube with a 90 degree black plasti plug. It comes out of the same place as a refrigerant tube on passenger side opposite the fuel filler under the bonnet. Looks like 18" long...what/where does the black plug on the end plug into?

It's the battery vent tube. It vents toxic battery fumes outside of the frunk. Sounds like it is not hooked up. If you don't see a short plastic piece (looks like a vacuum hose connector) sticking out from one side of the battery you might need to get a battery vent kit.

I don’t know about 996 models, but that seems like the battery vent tube. The 90 degree black plastic plug is intended to push into a hole in the top, passenger side of the battery.
