headlamps/ fog lights
2004 Porsche 911 Targa headlight issue.
All exterior lights work but fog lights are not working..
Headlight switch is good, headlight fuses are good, and fog light relay is good.
When i pull the **** to turn fog lights on, the high beam indicator comes on and no fog lights come on BUT high beams do!
When flipping the high beam switch on, the high beam indicator comes on and high beams come on.
I get power to low and high beams (obviously), but no power to the connector wire for fog lights (Left side: WHT/BLK & Right side: YEL/WHT), and i have good ground.
Can anyone help?
Has anyone run into this issue?
TIA..

Have you tried to unmount the headlights and mount them back? It sound that you have a bad connection somewhere...

Actually bulb connectors may have corrosion between the contacts. Remove the headlight enclosures, then remove the fog lamp bulbs, clean and examine the copper contacts on both the bulb and electrical mount, and then reattached. Check the lights again.

i checked everything.
i made a mistake in my post.
with the headlights on, i turn on the fog lights and only the passenger fog light comes on.
when i turn high beams on, i get no high beams BUT the driver side fog light comes on.
both fog lights do not come on at the same time and i have no high beams

Drifting
I had some weird behavior with my lights and it turned out the headlight wasn't plugged in well. I removed it, then plugged it back in firmly and it cleared up all of the problems.

found the problem (btw this is not my car, this is a friends car that is trying to pass NC State Inspection)
This car is a 996 with 997 front conversion. AND aftermarket fogs and turn signals.
the high beam pin in the connector was in the wrong location. swap the location on both headlights and now the high beams work (wtf)
as i got to taking the front bumper and inner wheel wells off, i noticed the aftermarket turn signals and fog lights were spliced into the factory connector..... not using wire splice connectors. and a few cut wires!
so i spent a few hours looking at wiring diagrams for this 996 and 997 and finally got all lights working properly.
i replaced the headlamp switch with a new one before doing any work, that's how i know it was not the main switch itself.
idk who F'ed up this car before selling it to a friend, but whoever did the work did a very shotty job with the front conversion.
