Does anyone have a Ecliptech P2 shift light in their 996?
I need for sure confirmation on rpm signal wire from OBD II, which wire did you use?
Thanks
David

Pin 9 is rpm. Power and ground can also be connected to the obd ii connector.
You can find a picture of the connector pin outs online. I have the original. Red, blue, and black wire. Blue to rpm.

tomcat is right it's pin #9.......
it was one of the easiest install jobs..... i spent more time coming up with custom light pattern then i did on the actual install.
I attached install thread i used. I installed mine about 6 months ago and it was one of the best mods.

you'll love and appreciate the shift light.

I bought the original years ago for another car. Ironic timing because I just fitted this in my 996 today for the first time.
Pin 9 is rpm for Porsche and BMW. Pin 9 is assigned by the manufacturer unlike the other pins - can be anything depending on the manufacturer.
Google a Porsche obd ii pinout to see what the PIN numbers are. But keep in mind things are reversed if you are splicing wires to the back of the connector.
You can, as I did today, plug the three wires into the front of the connector to test. Mine did not require calibration for either car. Out of the box for the original, 1k was one light, 2k two lights, etc.

I made a mistake with the wire colors. Black is ground, red is power, and blue is rpm.
Pin 4 is ground, pin 16 is power. Looking at the connector, the longer side, left to right, is 1 to 8. On the short side, left to right, 9 to 16.
