Car for sale, AGAIN
Well, I thought I'd give it another try. There's a new GT3, and it's singing a siren song.
I just put my ad for the C4S in the Rennlist classifieds, ad number 49691, and here's the LINK
All comments, like "Are you nuts?" or "Overpriced" or "Underpriced" or anything else welcome.

Looks nice Palting, and a fair price as far as I can tell. I've followed your saga over the last year or so, and from one Rennlist Member to another, good luck in selling her -- I only wish I were in the market. Grin.

I have found C4S is different kettle of fish from C2, and even the Turbo in the used market; warranty, 3.6L engine, unique looks, and limited quanties available. The model has it's own niche and people want them. You might be a little undepriced based on my experience. Patience will be rewarded.
Palting, you have mail!

Thank you all for the encouragement.
I just read my own ad, and now I want it! Oh, well. I guess we can't have it all
. Gotta give up something for something. Gotta buy a lottery ticket!

i think you are making a mistake. i 'll bet that the gt3 will cost you $40k plus your car.
this appears to me to be poor value for the money. in addition the gt3 is much less versatile than your c4s.
SAY IT AIN'T SO, PALTING! you have consistently been the most enthusiastic c4s driver on the board! in any case, good luck.
btw--i now have 33k miles-- not one problem!

Palting - Congratulations! I think you're going to really enjoy the GT3 alot! Looking forward to a comparison of your lap times (I'm guessing it won't be a subtle improvement).
Good luck!
Good luck!
Grant, thanks, but I don't quite have the GT3, yet. I have to sell the C4S first. Certainly, track usage is one of the reasons I want the GT3.
Ignacio, I bought the C4S because it was the best performing NA 911 right out of the box, and it had the looks to go with it. However, the GT3 is undeniably THE track Porsche that is still street driveable. I still prefer the looks of the C4S, but can't ignore the GT3 performance. Until the GT3 gets here, though, I'll still be championing the C4S!!!

if you're going to spend all that money wouldn't you really rather have a turbo?
some great deals out there now. i think the turbo would also be a better daily driver. have you actually driven a gt3?

Ignacio,
Yes, I've driven the GT3. Definitely more of a track car than a daily driver. But, that's what I want. Maybe I'll come across someone who made the mistake of buying a GT3 as a pure daily driver and I'll pick it up for less. The Turbo doesn't really do it for me, and I've test driven that as well.
Your comment on the $40,000.00 has got me thinking, though. For that money, I can get the US spec Lotus Elise, another street driveable track car, AND keep the C4S. Hmmmmm......

lotus elise would be an awsome track car at an excellent price. you'll miss your c4s too much otherwise....
remember that you've only spent 700 mi on the track--does that really merit a $110,000 investment for a gt3?

I have had a change of heart. I apologize to everyone for any inconvenience I may have caused. I drove the new GT3 last week, and saw all the track possibilities, and was absolutely blinded by it. However, comments made by friends are sinking in. One that particularly hit home was that the GT3 will cost me the C4S and $40,000.00. Weighing everything dispassionately, the C4S plus a Lotus Elise or a $40,000.00 track car will bring me more driving pleasure than a single GT3.
I am truly sorry , and did not mean to mislead anybody. The ad has been deleted. I have also saved this whole thread to my hard drive as a reminder of how passion can easily blind somebody to reason. Hopefully, we can all laugh at it someday.
