I just had a bolt of inspiration when i was driving my cab around this morning.

Is it possible to install a Tiptronic steering wheel into a manual car and use the +/- buttons for audio control?

Anyone tried this?

Sounds expensive. The questions is how can the + and - switches be interfaced with the stereo amplifier?? My 99 C4 has only a volume Potentiometer and I don't know if the unit can accept remote boolean (on/off) signals.

This has been done successfully, check the 993 board archives and that other Boxster board ...

What Vic said...
I've heard of it done in 996s too. The tip wheel does fit, but its a PITA to do the wiring. Here's the 993 DIY, should be very similar, Loren might be able to help out on wiring diagrams....
