Hey everyone. I've been working on refreshing brakes, shocks, springs and wheel bearings on my '03 C4S. I'm trying to remove the rear wheel hub but am stumped - can't figure out how to get the "fork" separate from the parking brake cable so I can pull it out from that hard cable sleeve/tube in the back of the hub. Got the parking brake components disassembled otherwise with no problem. It's just this fork piece that's holding me up. Any ideas?
It's pretty easy to remove the parking brake cable at the handle and pull it all the way through. This is how I've been removing rear wheel carriers. But when I completely removed the parking break from my track car I ended up absolutely mangling the cable at the wheel hub.
Thanks Slakker, am I looking at this wrong then? Can the cable only pull towards you and that "fork" I pictured does not get disconnected at all? It seems like this would be so much easier to do it from this end.
I just replaced both my parking brake cables... That pin that's holding the connector on (in the photo with the red arrows) comes out with a punch. It's just an interference fit - spray it with a little WD-40 or PB Blaster and it'll come right out.

Perfect! I will try punchin' and blastin' it tonight.
Having an issue and need to replace my cable also and this is for the right wheel. Do anyone know the part number, and after you get the fork off do the cable pull right out also what might hold the cable in the sleeve? Any help would br great and thanks in advance.
Not having a good go at it the tube broke and was rusted so bad it's fused to the hub I'm using a grinder tip on the dremel to thin it out but still working at it I'm open for ideas thanks in advance
