On WOT, there should be NO surges or hesitation. If you go WOT, you should come close to redline before you upshift. The next gear then will still have the revs fall on the power band of the Variocam. Hence, there should be no variation, and no surges or hesitation, since the variocam will not change. I'd have the car checked. It may be a fuel delivery problem or an ignition problem. It certainly is not normal.

If it's not the rev limiter, it's the MAS , I believe.

It is going in for a checkup on the 5th. It does have a realivly new MAF in it. I wonder if it could be a software issue?

going on mercedes experience i believe you need to look at the mas......especialy if you run non stock air filter. merc owners with k&n had some eary failures with mas systems.

Yes, I've heard it's the oil coating on the K&Ns that mess with the MAS.
