I'm taking delivery of an '02 C4 Cab that has the PCM system. It is coming from the east coast to southern California. Is the PCM software that is loaded for the whole country, or will I need to get software updates for the west coast? If I have to get new software, are these provided for free (the car is still under warranty) or do these have to be purchased?

You need a new disc, no it is not free, and the "new" version is still from 2001.

If you happen to be buying from a dealer, they can throw it in for you, otherwise you have to buy it on your own. I think its around $130.
