Default Battery corrosion problem

Background info is this: my 2000 5spd, no issues.
This is the third battery in the cars life so there never was any charging issues.
The dashboard voltmeter appears to be ready normal, 13-14v.
The problem is, how do I keep corrosion from forming on the positive battery terminal?
Is there some kind of magic stuff that will prevent this.
Btw- I have never used anything but Interstate batteries.

Yes, you can disconnect the cables then clean the battery posts and the terminals with water and baking soda thoroughly.
Then apply a coat of dielectric grease or battery grease (available from any auto parts store) on the posts BEFORE you install the terminals.
In addition, you can also install those felt washers on the battery posts.

The guys at your Interstate store will be happy to recommend and sell you products for this. Ask them too. BTW, is your battery vent tube hooked up? It's located on the positive terminal side and if not hooked up the battery gassing may be causing some of the problem.

On a few occasions in my car owning past, excessive corrosion around the terminals has preceded battery failure by a few months. Wondering if a weakening battery requires more charging and the extra charging causes the extra corrosion? Anyway, I predict a new battery in your near future.

Use the vent tubing that vents hydrogen gas and micro droplets of battery acid overboard. And I've seen the mung buildup on cars which are overcharging.

Thanks guys, forgot about the vent tube. Off to NAPA.
